Useful information for your stay

We would like to inform you with full transparency that urban redevelopment projects are planned in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Scala Stiegl.

In August 2025, the City of Bolzano approved a major redevelopment project for the areas surrounding our hotel. A new residential neighborhood will be created, and the former Cantina Bolzano commercial spaces and the old Hotel Stiegl parking lot will be completely reorganized.

As a result, construction work may begin in the immediate vicinity of the hotel in the coming months. The Hotel Scala Stiegl will remain open and fully operational throughout the duration of the work, guaranteeing its usual high standards of service and hospitality.

When does the work start?

Major work on the exterior areas is expected to begin in February 2026.

No renovation work will be carried out inside the hotel until October 2026.

What limitations might occur?

During the external construction phase, the following situations in particular may arise:

  • Working hours
    Construction activities will take place from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 18:00.
  • Noise and traffic
    Especially during the excavation phase, the construction site may come very close to the hotel. During this period, increased noise and heavy vehicle traffic along the access road are likely.
  • Accessibility and safety
    Our garden, pool, and all hotel areas will remain fully accessible and usable. The safety of our guests remains our top priority.

Our goal is to minimize any possible inconvenience and ensure your stay is pleasant and comfortable.

These works represent a significant investment in the future of the facility and the guest experience. Upon completion, the hotel will be further enhanced with lasting improvements, featuring new amenities and spaces designed to enhance comfort and functionality.

Among the main new features expected:

  • 20 additional rooms (double and single), mostly located on the garden side
  • A new and spacious underground car park, with direct access to the hotel and charging stations for electric vehicles
  • Renovated and expanded lobby and bar
  • Modernized wellness area on the 5th floor (gym and sauna)
  • New spaces for seminars and events
  • Renovation and integration of the “Salon Pavilion”
    The historic pavilion will be completely restored and integrated into the dining area, allowing for greater capacity during breakfast and offering an exclusive room for private events of up to 30 people.
